Project Bronze Forever Team Comps for Roria
Six-slot plans after gym 3, after Fly, and before Zeek and Captain B. — plus an optional legendary core.
A starter rank tells you who opens Mitis Town. A team rank tells you who is still on the field when Captain B. sends a Gengar with a Focus Sash. This page is a set of sample parties for Project Bronze Forever, not a single sacred six. Swap species as long as you keep the jobs: Electric answer, Fire answer, Water answer, Flying answer, Ground answer, Grass answer, then Dark and Ghost answers. The starter tier list is the pick. The type chart is the rulebook. The gym walkthrough is the map.
Do not lock six slots on Route 1. Early Roria is a catching region. Trade Resort exists so you can finish evolutions you cannot get alone. Battle Colosseum exists so a story team that only knows gym trainers can get humbled. Build for badges first, then EV train on the training page if you care about online fights.
Early team (after gym 3)
By the time you hold Arc, Brimstone, and Float, you should have a Water or Ground that already beat Chad, a Water that beat Sebastian, and a Grass or Electric that beat Quentin. A sample that does not require luck:
- Starter final-or-mid evo (Mudkip line, Rowlet line, or Piplup line from S tier)
- Geodude or any Ground type that made Silvent free
- A Water catch from Rosecove Beach (Tentacool, Magikarp, or a gift Water) so Fire never corners you again
- A Grass type if your starter is not Grass, because Quentin’s Wailmer is a sponge
- An Electric or Rock pivot for Flying pests on the road to Anthian
- An open slot for the next route’s HM slave or a lucky encounter
This is a gym team, not a beauty contest. If Linda already stole and returned the Bronze Brick in Gale Forest, you know Team Eclipse will keep showing Dark and Fighting fillers. Keep a Fighting or Fairy answer even this early. See Team Eclipse so those fights are not surprises.
Mid-game team (Fly unlocked)
Stephen’s Anthian hangar awards the Soaring Badge and HM Fly. That is the moment the party should stop being “whatever is highest level.” A mid-game sample:
- Your starter, now fully evolved or one stone away
- A dedicated flyer that actually wants to use Fly in battle, not a panicked Spearow
- Ground or Rock for Electric leftover from Chad and for Fire coverage into later routes
- Grass or Water for Ryan’s Ground gym in Aredia — he Mega Evolves the last slot, so bulk matters
- A Fire or Ice or Flying answer sitting in the box for Fissy’s Grass greenhouse
- False Swipe user as soon as you can teach it, because legendary birds and the Regis are one-chance set encounters
Prince Ryan’s gym is a mine full of jewels and Eclipse grunts. Do not walk in with only Water. Ground resists Electric but Ryan is Ground; Grass and Water are the correct STAB. After the Crater Badge you get Rock Smash, which is a field tool and a Fighting-type attack. That matters more than people think once Zeek is on the horizon.
Fissy is the first full battle gym and the first leader who Mega Evolves in the initial match. Six Grass-leaning monsters in a greenhouse fruit puzzle is where Fire, Flying, and Ice earn their keep. If your mid-game team is four Water types because they carried you through Brimber, you will have a bad afternoon in Fluoruma. Rebuild before you toss fruit in the basket.
Late team (Zeek and Captain B.)
Frostveil looks like Ice. It is not. Zeek runs a Dark gym inside a 2D Contrast-style platformer and his Pokemon sit past level 70. Fighting, Fairy, and Bug are the headline super-effective types. Ghost hits some of his dual types and loses to others. A late sample:
- Fighting STAB (Emboar, Blaziken, Lucario, or a Route catch that learned Close Combat)
- Fairy STAB so Dark Pulse does not farm you
- Your Grass/Ghost or Fire/Ghost if you grew Rowlet or Fuecoco
- A Steel type for Fairy chips and Dragon leftovers
- Water or Ground still on the team because you still travel
- A Ghost or Dark resist for Crescent
Captain B. is a Ghost pirate on a haunted ship. Surf is required to reach Crescent Town. Her Pokemon hold items: Focus Sash, Life Orb, Leftovers, Weakness Policy. That is Colosseum logic inside a gym. Ghost and Dark hit Ghost. Normal and Fighting bounce. Do not lead a Close Combat user into Gengar and expect a clean KO. Pack Dark Pulse from Zeek’s TM, a Dark type, or a strong Ghost, then bring a Normal immunity so Explosion and Facade lines do not coin-flip the run.
After the Haunted Badge, rebattle gyms when you rejoin a copy if you need EXP. Schoolgirl Joy on Victory Road outclasses every earlier hotspot. Details live on EV training.
Optional legendary core
Birds and Regis are not required for badges. They are optional cores for trainers who want a Colosseum or League-facing six. A typical legendary core is two birds plus one titan, or the full Regi set if you like puzzles more than flying. Zapdos covers Water and Flying. Moltres covers Grass and Ice. Articuno covers Dragon and Flying. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel are walls that make Captain B.’s item set less scary if you already finished their puzzles.
Rules that keep legendaries from ruining a save:
- Turn autosave off before the encounter.
- False Swipe to 1 HP, then status (Thunder Wave, Spore, or Hypnosis).
- Net Balls for Genesect in the Eclipse Gene Lab; Dusk Balls for ghosts and cave titans.
- Do not spend the only Ultra Balls you own on a bird if you still need Genesect.
Trade Resort is how you finish trade evos that belong on these cores. Battle Colosseum is how you find out your late team is four setup sweepers and no speed control. If a copy vanished, check game status and Discord before you EV train for a week. If you are still choosing the first slot, go back to getting started, the starter guide, and the starter tier. Redeem codes after Chad so Rare Candy lands on the False Swipe slot instead of a Route 1 catch you will box.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers trainers actually search for.
When should I rebuild my team?
After Rosecove (gym 3) and again before Fluoruma (gym 6). Fissy is a full battle with Mega Evolution. A Water-heavy early team will stall there.
Do I need legendaries to beat the gyms?
No. Birds and Regis are optional cores for Colosseum and late hunts. Badges only require coverage and levels. See legendary birds and Regis.
What does Fly change about team building?
The Soaring Badge lets you place a real flyer on the six instead of dragging an HM slave. Keep that slot as a combat Flying type, not a Spearow you never send out.
How do Trade Resort and Colosseum fit?
Trade Resort finishes trade evolutions. Battle Colosseum tests EV-trained teams. Train on the training page before you treat Colosseum as a story fight.
What should I lead versus Captain B.?
A Dark or Ghost type that does not mind Focus Sash. Do not lead Fighting into Ghost. Read gym leaders for her item set.
