Project Bronze Forever Mimikyu in Gale Forest

Halloween overnight grass, a Pikachu that is not a Pikachu, and a Ghost/Fairy disguise.

Last updated:

Catch Mimikyu

Mimikyu is a Ghost/Fairy Halloween spawn in Gale Forest overnight, not a one-chance static and not a Fortulose Manor hunt. While the event is live, fly to Cheshma Town, enter Gale Forest — the same forest as Linda in the beginner story — and hunt wild Pokemon at night until a Pikachu appears, acts strangely, and reveals itself as Mimikyu. Catch that. When the event ends, that disguise stops. Confirm the window on event updates and Discord before you burn an evening of ordinary Pikachu.

This page follows the official Mimikyu short embedded mid-article. The official clip treats it as a timed wild overnight spawn, not a click-once shadow like Marshadow. This wiki follows that: if you fail a Mimikyu during the event, keep hunting night grass in Gale Forest. If Discord says Halloween is closed, stop. Play the live copy from the official play page. Copies get re-uploaded; progress is designed to persist, but an event spawn table does not always migrate.

Historically this event has ended. A video from last October is not a spawn table for this week. Treat the calendar as part of the hunt.

Gale Forest at night, same as Linda

Gale Forest is the first story forest after Cheshma Town. Linda corners you there for Team Eclipse. You do not need eight badges to stand in that grass. You do need night. The official short is explicit: Mimikyu can only be found at night. If the sky is day, wait or sleep. If you never finished Getting Started, you may not even know where Cheshma is — finish that page and a starter first.

Fly if you already have the Soaring Badge from Stephen (gym 4). Walk from Cheshma if you do not. Controls and the gym walkthrough cover Fly. You do not need Rock Climb, Surf, or a Tropics ticket. You do not need the Anthian alley from Ash Greninja.

Repel carefully. If you Repel too hard you skip the disguise. If you never Repel you drown in early bugs. Walk the forest you already know. This is not every route in the game. Halloween Haunter is the 1-in-500 roam on every route. Mimikyu is the Gale Forest overnight Pikachu. Do not mix the two hunts.

Codes sometimes drop during Halloween. Redeem them with how to redeem, then go back to night grass. Codes will not spawn Mimikyu. Expired strings are in the expired archive.

Disguised Pikachu, then Ghost/Fairy

Hunt until a wild Pikachu appears. It begins to act strangely and transforms, revealing Mimikyu. Catch it. Dusk Balls at night are the obvious ball. Ultra Balls as backup. False Swipe if you have it. Do not Thunderbolt a disguise you came to catch.

Mimikyu is Ghost/Fairy. In battle it uses Disguise: the first damaging hit breaks the rag (Busted) and deals no damage to Mimikyu itself. The second hit is real. That is why people throw a chip move first and a ball second, or why a panicked gym sweeper wastes a turn popping the rag. Read the type chart. Ghost/Fairy is weak to Ghost and Steel. It is immune to Normal and Dragon. Dark and Poison are resisted. Do not lead a Normal STAB into a catch you care about.

This is not Rotom. Rotom is a one-chance Electric/Ghost hide-and-seek in Fortulose Manor on Route 9, then appliance forms in Anthian Park. Mimikyu is not an appliance. Do not start the jukebox chase because a Halloween thumbnail said “ghost in a house.”

This is not Marshadow. Marshadow is Fighting/Ghost in Shadow Void behind a night portal, one chance, autosave off. Mimikyu is wild grass. Save anyway if you want a particular nature; you do not need the Heatran-level one-chance ritual unless the live copy has changed the spawn into a static — the official video did not show that.

Do not point auto-catch at every Gale Forest Pikachu without watching the transform. You will sack the one that mattered. Read script safety first.

Event ended, copies moved

If grass has been ordinary Pikachu for an hour in November, the event may already be over. If Discord says the event is up next week, do not hunt yet. Gym leaders do not gift Mimikyu. Legendary birds, Regis, Heatran, and Ho-Oh stay on their own pages and stay in the game after Halloween.

Confirm game status so you are not night-hunting on a dead copy. A Gale Forest on yesterday’s place does not keep the overlay.

You do not need the Z-Crystals pouch or the Deep Jungle crystals to start this hunt. Ghostium Z is not on those two videos. Fairy Z is not either. Catch Mimikyu with balls, not with a pedestal.

After the rag

Nickname it so you can see Disguise in the summary. Ghost/Fairy is a special wall and a curse user depending on the set. Steel still ends it. Pair it with a Steel answer from the tier list if you take it seriously, and keep it off the lead against Mega Sableye mirror Ghosts if you do not know the speed. Captain B. is Ghost; Ghost/Fairy hits Ghost and resists Dark from Zeek. That is later homework. Catching it during the window is the homework tonight.

If the event closes while Mimikyu is in the box, you keep that Mimikyu. You just cannot catch a new event one until staff open Halloween again. That is the opposite of Marshadow’s one-click rule and the same as Halloween Haunter: the spawn is gated, the Pokemon you already caught is not deleted.

When Discord says the event is closed, stop grinding Gale Forest for a disguise that is gone, and go finish Volcanion or Victini. The forest will still have Linda’s story bugs. It will not still have Mimikyu.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers trainers actually search for.

Where do I hunt Mimikyu?

Gale Forest overnight, reached from Cheshma Town — the same forest as Linda in the beginner story. Hunt until a wild Pikachu acts strangely and transforms.

Is Mimikyu a one-chance static like Marshadow?

No. The official video treats it as a timed wild overnight spawn. You can keep hunting during the event. Marshadow is the one-chance Shadow Void click.

Is the Halloween event still on?

Historically it has ended. Confirm on event updates and Discord before you night-hunt Gale Forest.

How is this different from Rotom?

Rotom is a one-chance hide-and-seek in Fortulose Manor, then appliance forms in Anthian Park. Mimikyu is event grass in Gale Forest, Ghost/Fairy with Disguise.

What type is Mimikyu and what does Disguise do?

Ghost/Fairy. Disguise blocks the first damaging hit (Busted after). Weak to Ghost and Steel. Check the type chart.
