Project Bronze Forever Halloween Haunter and Gengar
Event-only white Haunter, Trade Resort Gengar, and the calendar you check on Discord before the window closes.
Halloween Haunter is an event-timed Ghost/Poison encounter, not the year-round Gastly line from Old Graveyard. While the Halloween event is live, it can appear on every route, at any time of day, at about 1 in 500. It looks like a white Haunter with red eyes and a shiny sparkle at the start of the fight. Catch that, then trade it at Trade Resort to evolve Halloween Gengar. When the event ends, that roam stops. This page follows the official Halloween Haunter + Gengar video. Confirm the window on event updates and Discord before you burn an evening of empty grass.
This is availability, not a Steam Chamber one-click. You can fail a Haunter and find another during the same event. You cannot find this skin in January if staff have closed Halloween. Treat the calendar as part of the hunt.
Event Haunter, not graveyard Gastly
The year-round Gastly line is Ghost/Poison too, but it is a different route: Old Graveyard at night, level to 25 for Haunter, then trade for a normal Gengar. Halloween Haunter skips Gastly. You encounter Haunter already, with the white event skin. Do not mix the two hunts. Graveyard Gastly will not become Halloween Gengar. Event Haunter will not appear in the graveyard as a guaranteed spawn.
Official video rules for the event skin:
- Every route in the game, not one patch of grass.
- Any time of day, unlike some other Halloween spawns that are night-only.
- About 1 in 500.
- White body, red eyes, sparkle on entry so you do not run from it thinking it is a glitch shiny.
Repel carefully. If you Repel too hard you skip the roam. If you never Repel you drown in Rattata. Walk routes you can already access from the gyms path. Silvent routes are enough if you only have one badge. You do not need Aredia or the Lost Islands to start clicking grass. You do need time.
Codes sometimes drop during Halloween. Redeem them, then go back to grass. Codes will not spawn Haunter.
Trade Resort into Gengar
Haunter, event or not, evolves into Gengar only by trade. Take Halloween Haunter to Trade Resort. The Recreational Teleportation Device that Jake gives after Silvent’s Arc Badge is how you get there. Trade with a person you trust, or an alt, and the Haunter evolves on their side into Halloween Gengar. Trade it back. The official video is explicit: it evolves for the friend on receipt, so you need the return trade.
Do not trade a one-chance mythical by accident in the same session. Box Victini, Volcanion, and Rotom first. Trade Resort is also where other trade evos happen; this page only cares about Haunter. Nickname the event Haunter before the trade so you can see it in the trade window.
If the event closes while Haunter is still unevolved in your box, you keep that Haunter. You can still trade it later. You just cannot catch a new event Haunter until the next Halloween window. That is the one-chance-per-event logic: the spawn is gated, the Pokemon you already caught is not deleted.
Mega Gengar if the stone exists
Standard Gengar uses Gengarite from the BP Shop in the Colosseum Marketplace. Halloween Gengar uses Gengarite H from the same shop while the event (or the leftover stock) allows it, at 200 BP in the official Mega Halloween Gengar short. Give the matching stone, enter a battle, Mega Evolve with the Mega Ring / in-battle button like Mega Sableye. The wrong stone on the wrong skin does nothing useful.
If Gengarite H is gone after the event, you still have Halloween Gengar as a skin. You may be limited to non-Mega or to regular Gengarite on a regular Gengar. Read the shop list instead of assuming. BP farming is a Colosseum problem, not a Route 1 problem.
Mega Gengar is Ghost/Poison with much more speed and special attack than Mega Sableye. It is a sweeper. Fairy still ruins it. Check the type chart and the tier list before you spend 200 BP that you wanted for an Affection Ribbon on Eeveelutions.
When the window is open
Halloween in this revival is staff-run. It is not a real-world calendar guarantee that October 31 on your phone equals spawns. Copies get re-uploaded. Events start and stop with announcements. The updates hub and Discord are the live sources. If grass has been empty for an hour in November, the event may already be over. If Discord says the event is up in a week, do not hunt yet.
Team Eclipse does not control Halloween Haunter. Gym leaders do not gift it. Legendary birds and Regis stay on their own pages. Z-Crystals on the Z-Crystals hunt do not make Haunter spawn faster.
Play through the getting started hours so Trade Resort is unlocked before the event peaks. A Haunter you cannot trade is stuck as Haunter. The Arc Badge from Chad is the usual RTD gate.
Hunting without burning out
Rotate routes instead of one bush. Event Haunter is a roam-style 1/500, so a new map can reset your patience even if the rate is the same. Keep Dusk Balls. Ghost/Poison is weak to Psychic, Dark, Ghost, and Ground. Do not lead a Psychic into a Haunter you cannot afford to faint. False Swipe if you have it. Status if you do not.
If you only want a normal Gengar for the dex, skip the event and do Old Graveyard Gastly at night, level 25, Trade Resort. That line is always there. The white skin is the Halloween prize. When the sparkle hits, do not run. When Discord says the event is closed, stop grinding grass for a spawn that is gone, and go finish Rotom or the Steam Chamber instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers trainers actually search for.
Is Halloween Haunter available all year?
No. It is event-timed. Watch event updates and Discord. During the window it can appear on any route, any time of day, at about 1 in 500.
How do I evolve Halloween Haunter into Gengar?
Trade it at Trade Resort. Haunter only evolves by trade. Use a trusted friend or alt and trade it back after it becomes Halloween Gengar.
How is this different from regular Gastly?
Regular Gastly is a night spawn at Old Graveyard and levels into a normal Haunter at 25. Halloween Haunter is a white, red-eyed event roam that skips Gastly. Trading the event Haunter yields Halloween Gengar, not a paletteswap of a graveyard catch.
Can I Mega Evolve Halloween Gengar?
If Gengarite H is in the Colosseum BP Shop, buy it (the official short listed 200 BP), hold it on Halloween Gengar, and Mega Evolve in battle. Regular Gengarite is for regular Gengar.
What if the event ends while I still have Haunter?
Keep it. You can trade-evolve later. You just cannot catch a new event Haunter until staff open Halloween again.
