Project Bronze Forever Marshadow in Shadow Void

Halloween night portal, a shadow behind you, and a one-chance Fighting/Ghost mythical.

Last updated:

Catch Marshadow

Marshadow is a Fighting/Ghost mythical from the Halloween event, caught in Shadow Void, not in Gale Forest grass. You find a hidden portal somewhere in Roria at night, walk through it into Shadow Void, run to the end of the path, and wait until Marshadow appears behind you as your shadow. Click it. The battle starts. One chance. Save beforehand. Turn autosave off.

This page follows the official Marshadow short embedded mid-article. The event is yearly and staff-run. It is not a guarantee that September grass contains Marshadow. If the Halloween window has ended, the portals are gone. Confirm the live calendar on event updates and Discord before you spend a night walking empty routes. Play the live copy from the official play page. Copies get re-uploaded; progress is designed to persist, but an event spawn table does not always migrate.

Treat this hunt like Victini and Heatran, not like Mimikyu. Mimikyu is a timed wild overnight spawn in Gale Forest. Marshadow is a one-chance static in another dimension. If it faints, that save file does not get another Marshadow this event — and some copies have refused a second year if you already caught one.

Confirm Halloween is actually on

Halloween in this revival is not a phone calendar. Staff open it. Staff close it. A guide written in October is a snapshot. Open Discord the day you hunt. Open the events page. If nobody is talking about portals, you missed it or it has not started. Do not grind Route 1 in September hoping the void opens.

Codes sometimes drop during Halloween. Redeem them with how to redeem, then go back to portal hunting. Codes will not spawn Marshadow. Expired holiday strings belong in the expired archive.

You still need a file that can walk Roria at night. Finish Getting Started and enough of the gym walkthrough that you can reach more than Mitis. Later routes and the lake historically hosted portals; the official short only promises a hidden portal somewhere across Roria, night only. Follow the video, then rotate maps. Fly from gym 4 (Stephen, Soaring Badge) is how you check more than one town in a sitting. Controls covers Fly.

Night portal into Shadow Void

When Halloween is live, a dark portal appears at night. Walk into it. You enter Shadow Void: a short path, a bridge, a pillar, and your own shadow. Run to the end of the path. Marshadow appears behind you as that shadow, often as fiery eyes first. Click Marshadow. Do not walk back out of the portal thinking you glitched. That is the encounter.

Save before you click. Turn autosave off. If you save inside Shadow Void, some copies eject you on rejoin and you have to find a new night portal. Save on the pillar, autosave off, then click. Pack Dusk Balls from the Poke Ball Emporium in Anthian Shopping District before you start looking for portals. Shadow Void is a night dimension. Dusk Balls are the modifier. Timer Balls if it stalls. Ultra Balls as backup.

Do not point auto-catch at this click. A script that KOs the mythical ends the file. Read script safety first.

If the portal is missing, it is day, the event is off, or you are on the wrong copy. Check game status. Rejoin the place from the play page, wait for night, and try another map. Team Eclipse does not own this portal. Gym leaders do not gift Marshadow.

One chance, Fighting/Ghost

Marshadow is Fighting/Ghost, typically around level 40 in the set encounter. Fighting/Ghost is weak to Flying, Psychic, Fairy, and Ghost. It hits Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel depending on the move. Read the type chart before you lead a Psychic into a catch you cannot afford to KO. False Swipe or a chip move on the lead. Status that does not knock it out is allowed. A KO is a dead hunt.

One chance. If the battle ends without a catch, leave without saving only if autosave was already off, then rejoin. If autosave was on, that file is done with Marshadow.

This is not Haunter and Gengar. Halloween Haunter is a white 1-in-500 roam on every route during the same season. You can fail a Haunter and find another. You cannot fail Marshadow and click the shadow again on that save. This is not Rotom in Fortulose Manor. This is not Mimikyu disguising as Pikachu in Gale Forest. Different event Pokemon, different rules.

Do not mix Shadow Void with Igneus Depths (Heatran), Cragonos Sanctuary (Ho-Oh), or Aredia Ruins (Victini). Those hunts stay in the game after Halloween. Marshadow does not.

After the void

Turn autosave back on in a Pokemon Centre. Fighting/Ghost is a physical sweeper with a Z-Move story in the core series; in this revival you still only get one Z-Move per battle if you brought crystals from the Z-Crystals hunt or Deep Jungle crystals. Marshadow does not need a crystal to exist. Catching it is the event.

Keep it off the lead against Psychic and Fairy. Pair it with a Dark resist from the tier list if you take it to Zeek, and remember Captain B. is Ghost — Ghost hits Fighting/Ghost super-effectively. The starter you picked in Cypress’s lab is irrelevant to this portal.

When Discord says Halloween is closed, stop looking for portals. Go finish Volcanion or the legendary birds. The overlay will vanish. Roria will not. Next year, confirm again. Do not assume a September reopen. Do not assume a second Marshadow if you already caught one last Halloween.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers trainers actually search for.

Is Marshadow available in September?

Not by default. It is a Halloween yearly event. Confirm the window on event updates and Discord before you hunt portals.

How do I start the Marshadow fight?

Find a hidden night portal in Roria, walk into Shadow Void, run to the end of the path, and click Marshadow when it appears as your shadow. Save first. Autosave off.

Can I catch Marshadow more than once?

No. It is one chance. If the battle ends without a catch, that file is done. Leave without saving only if autosave was already off.

Is this the same as Halloween Haunter or Mimikyu?

No. Haunter is a roam you can fail and retry. Mimikyu is overnight Gale Forest grass. Marshadow is a one-chance Shadow Void static.

What type is Marshadow?

Fighting/Ghost. Pack Dusk Balls and read the type chart so Flying, Psychic, Fairy, and Ghost hits do not KO the catch.
