Project Bronze Forever EXP, EVs, and Catch Prep

Schoolgirl Joy, Fisherman Sebastian, Decca Beach, and the save rules that keep Genesect and birds from vanishing.

EV Training

Training in Project Bronze Forever is three jobs that people mix up: leveling for gyms, EV training for Colosseum, and catch prep for one-chance legendaries. You do not need a perfect 252/252 spread to beat Chad. You do need Schoolgirl Joy once Victory Road opens, and you do need autosave off before Genesect. This page names the hotspots that exist in Roria, not a generic EV map from another game. Use it with the type chart so you are not grinding the wrong type, and with team comps so the Pokemon you feed is one you will still use.

EXP Share spreads both experience and EVs. Turn it off when you are shaping a single sweeper. Macho Brace doubles natural EVs. Power items (Weight, Bracer, Belt, Lens, Band, Anklet) add a flat four EVs in one stat per faint, which is how Joy jumps from 10 HP to the mid-20s per fight.

EXP hotspots by stage

Before gym 5: route trainers beat wild grinding. Do not sit in Route 1 grass after you have Cut.

Route 14 and 15: after Fluoruma, Punk Guy Nathaniel and Adventurer Tanner are the mid-late EXP stops. Route 14’s ruin cave is also a wild HP farm (Makuhita 1 HP, Clefairy and Loudred 2 HP) if you do not have Victory Road yet.

Decca Beach: Beach Bum Joe sits under the fish-market stairs. About 7,500 EXP per fight and 7 Special Attack EVs. He outclasses Nathaniel. Fly to Port Decca once you can.

Igneus Depths: still useful earlier for special attackers. Numel, Slugma, Heatmor, and Magby give Special Attack EVs in the volcano under Brimber. Use this before Decca exists on your save, not after.

Victory Road — Schoolgirl Joy: the headline. Huge EXP (on the order of 23,000 per battle in this revival) and 10 HP EVs. If you have eight badges, you grind Joy, not Joe. If you only have six, you are not here yet.

Victory Road — Fisherman Sebastian: 10 Special Defense EVs per fight. Different trainer from Gym Leader Sebastian. Do not Fly to Brimber looking for him.

Rebattle gym leaders after you rejoin a copy if you need a quick level and Joy is not available. The gym leaders page is the roster. Gym rematches are slower than Joy and faster than wild Route 8.

You cap at 252 EVs in a stat and 510 total. Two stats at 252 plus 6 leftover is the usual Colosseum shape. Story teams can stay raw. If Trade Resort and Battle Colosseum are your goal, EV train after Fissy, not after Route 1.

Happiness, Day Care, candy

Happiness checker: Brimber. Friendship evolutions (some Eeveelutions, and anything that wants a high friendship stat) should make a Brimber pit stop instead of guessing from a summary screen.

Day Care: Lagoona. Park a pair, walk, come back. This is how you breed, not how you beat Zeek tomorrow. Levels from Day Care do not teach you the gym puzzle.

Rare Candy: codes drop it. Redeem after gym 1 on the codes page. Put candy on a False Swipe user or on the sweeper you refuse to grind, not on six random catches. Candy does not apply EVs. Joy still matters.

Catching: False Swipe, status, autosave

Set encounters in this game are one shot if you save the fail. That list includes Genesect in the Eclipse Gene Lab, Hoopa in Demon’s Tomb, legendary birds, and the Regis. Procedure:

  1. Turn autosave off in settings.
  2. Save in front of the encounter.
  3. False Swipe to 1 HP. Normal cannot hit Ghost, so pack a Dark or special chip for Ghost targets.
  4. Status: Thunder Wave, Spore, Hypnosis, or any reliable sleep/paralysis. Burn and poison are worse than paralysis for catch rate versus time.
  5. Balls: Net Balls for Genesect (Bug/Steel). Dusk Balls in caves and at night. Repeat Balls if you already own the species from a previous attempt that you somehow kept.
  6. If it faints or the ball fails on the last one, leave without saving and rejoin the copy.

The Key Card for Genesect is in the Eclipse boss office drawer after Grunt Hugh and the security buttons. Details sit on Team Eclipse. Do not walk into that lab with autosave on because you were grinding Joe.

A sane order for a new save

Beat Chad, redeem codes, play the story through Rosecove with the starter guide coverage plan and the gym walkthrough for puzzles. Use route trainers until Anthian. After Fly, hit Igneus Depths or Route 11 only if a gym is slamming you. After Harvest Badge, Route 14/15 then Decca. After eight badges, Joy and Fisherman Sebastian. EV train for Colosseum last. If the Roblox place vanished mid-grind, game status and Discord tell you which copy still has your box. Getting started is still the first page if you have not left Mitis Town.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers trainers actually search for.

Where is the best EXP in Project Bronze Forever?

Schoolgirl Joy on Victory Road after eight badges. Before that, Beach Bum Joe on Decca Beach, then Route 14/15 trainers.

Who is Fisherman Sebastian?

A Victory Road trainer who gives 10 Special Defense EVs per fight. He is not Gym Leader Sebastian in Brimber.

Where do I check happiness?

Brimber City. Use it for friendship evolutions. Day Care is in Lagoona if you are breeding instead of battling.

Should I leave autosave on for legendaries?

No. Turn it off for Genesect, Hoopa, birds, and Regis. Save in front, False Swipe, status, then reset by leaving if the catch fails.

Do gym rematches give good EXP?

Yes, after you rejoin a copy, but Joy still wins. Use rematches when you cannot reach Victory Road yet. See gym leaders.
